"Red Owl gives my Child Confidence"

Written Testimonials

I couldn’t be happier sending my daughter here! I’m sure there’s  plenty of great schools in the area but nothing compares to Red Owl in  my opinion. I feel confident when my daughter is at school she is being  loved as a family member and not just as a random kid in a class. Miss  Elizabeth and Miss Liana are FANTASTIC at helping each child with  different needs and helping them grow. My daughter now knows a bit of  French, does yoga and knows how to plant and grow her own food. I cannot  wait until my son can have his turn here.

My son attended Red Owl Academy for two years. Sadly, he graduated this  week and is off to Kindergarten. I wish he could stay here forever. I  absolutely LOVE this school, the director and teachers. Looking at it  from the perspective of both, an always anxious parent ( and in general,  person, that’s just me!) as well as a primary grade teacher. I always  felt my child was in great hands, was never worried and knew he was  learning so much every day. Not only was he learning, but he was  learning in the most unique, amazing ways. There was no pencil and paper  learning here…this was all learning through thinking and doing and  problem solving. It was all STEM and  STEAM, cooking, French classes,  group play, stories, singing, nature walks, projects, too much to name  but each day I saw it all because the teachers sent countless pictures  of what my little boy was up to and it made me so happy to see him so  happy and learning. I am so sad to say goodbye to this incredible  school. No other school will come close to the cleanliness of this  school either. They did not allow outdoor shoes to enter the classroom  or play area so the children did not come in contact with the germs and  dirt from anyone’s shoes and after what’s happened these last few  months, that has quadrupled in importance. This school is a gem in more  ways than I can name. Graduation Day was a happy day but also a day I  dreaded since the day we all fell in love with Red Owl Academy.

Red Owl Academy is the perfect place for my three-year-old. Here’s  why I love it: IT’S SAFE–safety is key for me as a parent; I want my  child to be in places where he is safe and feels safe. This is that  place. IT’S NURTURING–my son is loved and cared for here. He also loves  his teachers and fellow students. IT’S CREATIVE–they don’t do narrow  activities like filling out worksheets, but are more free and active in  their learning experiences. He brings home very creative projects and I  LOVE COOKING DAY! On Thursdays, the class cooks together, and it’s  something different every week. They have aprons, cutting boards, and  (dull) knives to participate in it all! IT’S AN INCREDIBLE LEARNING  ENVIRONMENT–my son comes home with new vocabulary every day; when we  experience something at home (like a praying mantis), the teachers give  us resources to enrich the experience like books. Further, the kids and  teachers get their hands dirty together by planting seeds that grow into  food to eat! IT’S INTEGRATIVE–at preschool, everything comes together as they learn  by hearing, reading, speaking, touching, experiencing–nothing could be  better!

Red Owl Academy has been an amazing place for my son. The teachers are  loving and create a safe, happy environment for their students. The days  are spent with creative projects, cooking, French class, nature walks,  outdoor play, gardening and so much more. It has been a wonderful  experience for my son, he has learned and grown so much over the year. I  can’t say enough about this incredible learning environment and it’s  dedicated teachers.

My son has been with Red Owl Academy for over a year. He is a completely  different Child from when he started till now he has come so far! He is  so independent and well behaved ❤️ They have helped him grow into an  amazing talented little boy. The teacher that they have on staff Erica Mazzeo-Cavaroc, is AMAZING!  She is so talented and creative and nurturing she has brought out the  true artist in my son Ronin! He loves The projects that Erica comes up  with she has inspired him to create and find his love and talent as an  Artist and also his voice he talks so much now…In the beginning I had a  really hard time separating from my son and I was so worried he Was so  Young and attached to me. Liana reassured me that they had a very caring  teacher on staff Erica was so sweet and loving and attentive to his  needs that it completely took all my worries away. Liana the director of  the school even taught him French! Wonderful staff I can’t say enough I would recommend the school 100%.

My child has attended Red Owl Academy for more than a year, and I  cannot say enough positive things about the school. Thanks to the  talented and dedicated staff, children are able to develop in a  nurturing and safe environment. The curriculum is comprehensive and  creative. In addition to math, reading, writing, and science, children  paint, cook, garden, and do yoga. They collaborate over puzzles and  blocks and dramatic play. They build obstacle courses and make play  dough. They sing and dance. They learn French. There is a weekly  show-and-tell where each child can present something of interest to  classmates. Parents are informed each step of the way through daily  pictures and notes. One of my favorite things about the school is that  the staff encourage each child’s curiosity. If the kids want to learn  about butterflies or dinosaurs or birds, targeted educational tools  (books, songs, projects) are introduced. For example, when the children  became interested in bird watching, the class read books about different  birds, built bird feeders, and observed and recorded which birds came  to feed as part of a project at Cornell University’s Lab of Ornithology.  The wonderful facility and intimate class size lend themselves to a  variety of activities.   The founder, also a parent, is tireless in her effort to provide the  best educational experience to the children. She has partnered with  local institutions, such as Tenafly Nature Center, to enhance the  curriculum. I cannot wait for my youngest child to attend Red Owl  Academy when he turns 3!
