WE PROVIDE A STRUCTURED, LOVING ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN AGED 3, 4 & 5
Developmentally appropriate sensory, motor, perceptual and language skills are introduced through materials and hands-on learning activities. To accomplish this goal, we teach to the abilities of each child so that they all can feel capable and successful. The learning process at Red Owl Academy is the immediate reflection of the world community to help children become caring, respectful and active members of society. Our curriculum is built on incorporated themes, integrated units, projects, group work, individual work, and learning activities in order to make children active learners. Through our STEAM program activities, our students are taught independent innovation and explore greater depths of all of the subjects. Critical and analytical thinking along with the ability to work as a member of a team or independently are strongly encouraged at Red Owl Academy.
As a foreign language, we are introducing French. As a teaching method we are using QTALK which is a method based on a series of icons placed side by side and interpreted as full complex sentences from the very first lesson. During the lesson, students produce the complete task of recall & language production. QTALK is a language endorsed by the NYU department of neurology. This program is based on Active Cognition which means that students are active participants in the learning experience and the role of the teacher becomes a facilitator.
